Abstract:
Provided is an elevator system that, without adding a new detector thereto, enables rescue of a user confined in a cage even in the case where a landing device fails. The elevator system is provided with: a control device that controls operation of a cage of an elevator and that detects the failure of a landing device of the elevator; and a monitoring device that, when the failure of the landing device has been detected by the control device, determines whether or not a user of the elevator is confined in the cage, and that, when a user is confined in the cage, causes the control device to cause the cage to travel until the position of the cage reaches the position where a door of the cage is allowed to be opened, on the basis of a detection result of a detector that detects information used for controlling the speed of the cage, and to cause the door of the cage to be opened in a state where the position of the cage reaches the position where the door of the cage is allowed to be opened.
