Abstract:
An elevator not necessarily requiring an exclusive hoist even if the specifications of the elevator such as the capacity and speed of a car are changed, comprising the car lifted up and down in a hoistway, a counterbalance weight lifted up and down in the hoistway interlockingly with the car, a rope suspending the car and the counterbalance weight in the hoistway, and a plurality of hoists lifting up and down the car and the counterbalance weight through the rope and mounted on the counterbalance weight.
