Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an elevator wherein an elevator car can be raised and lowered rapidly by achieving stable brake release by way of lifting a plurality of release bolts with equal force. The present invention is an elevator comprising an electromagnetic braking device (108) that imparts a braking force to a hoisting device sheave on which a rope connecting an elevator car and a counterweight is wound and a brake releasing device (101) that releases the sheave from the braking force of the electromagnetic braking device (108), wherein the elevator is configured so that an armature (6) and wires (5A, 5B) coupled to the armature (6) in two locations form a ring, a distributing mechanism (11) that varies the length of the wire portion (5A) distributed to one coupled side of the armature (6) and the length of the wire portion (5B) distributed to the other coupled side is provided intermediately between the wires (5A, 5B), and the distributing mechanism (11) is pulled by a pulling wire (15).
