Abstract:
The present invention provides an elevator in which a restriction in the height of a control panel can be eliminated, a restriction in design and the occurrence of damage in the interior of a cage can be eliminated, the occurrence of accidental dropping of a tool, etc., into a hoistway can be inhibited, and maintenance and inspection workability can be improved. In this elevator, a cage is provided with a movable safety fence configured so as to be capable of shifting between a work position, at which the movable safety fence is provided upright along one side of the upper part of the cage, and a retracted position along the upper part of the cage. In-hoistway equipment is configured so as to be capable of moving between a maintenance and inspection position, at which a side of the cage infringes from the one side into the upper part of the cage when viewed from vertically above, and a normal position set away from the cage when viewed from vertically above. Safety handrails are configured so as to be capable of shifting between a storage position, at which the safety handrails are disposed along the in-hoistway equipment on both widthwise sides of the in-hoistway equipment, and a deployment position, at which the safety handrails extend on both widthwise sides of the in-hoistway equipment with the length direction of the safety handrails being the horizontal direction.
