Abstract:
This elevator is provided with: a hoist having a sheave; a machine beam; a main rope; an elevator car; a balance weight; an elevator car-side return pulley; and a weight-side return pulley. The main rope is affixed at a first rope end thereof, i.e. one axial end thereof, and at a second rope end thereof, i.e. the other axial end thereof, to the machine beam. The machine beam is disposed horizontally between the elevator car and a wall surface of a hoistway. The hoist is affixed to the upper surface of the machine beam in the vertical movement direction. The weight-side return pulley is installed on the lower surface of the machine beam in the vertical movement direction.
