Abstract:
The present invention relates to an embolisation coil which is retained in the body, and, in the present invention, the embolisation coil is inserted along a blood vessel while turning, being inserted along the insides of blood vessels while turning spirally along the insides of not only straight-line blood vessels but also curved blood vessels such that the embolisation coil can be easily and effectively retained. In the present invention, the above aim is achievable by providing the embolisation coil which is retained in the body of the present invention, wherein: a plurality of unit spiral coils constituted by a first coil formed from a wire wound into a spiral shape are formed into a polygonal first coil in such a way as to have a polygonal shape that has a plurality of corners, and a heat treatment is carried out in order to memorise the shape, and a polygonal second coil is formed that forms a spiral shape in the same way as hitherto from the polygonal first coil, and a heat treatment is carried out in order to memorise this spiral shape.
