Abstract:
A reference line is generated from the path of a digitizer (10) and then right and left
outlines are generated on the opposite sides of the reference line by being separated
from it by an interval corresponding to the pressure applied onto the digitizer.
Both the reference line and the outline are free curves wherein the control point
of the reference line has a position and the control point of the outline has a position,
length d of the foot of a perpendicular to the reference line, and a parameter t
indicative of the position of the foot of the perpendicular. When the reference
line is shifted, control point of the outline is shifted to retain d and t and the
outline is regenerated. When the outline is shifted, d and t are calculated again
as the control point of the outline is shifted. Stitch data about embroidery is
generated to connect the right and left outlines. When the reference line is shifted,
the right and left outlines are also shifted in association with it or the outline
can be shifted independently.
