Abstract:
An embroidery sewing machine with a printing function (1), where the embroidery sewing machine has a sewing machine body (2) provided with a bed section (10), a leg column section (11), and an arm section (12) and is capable of sewing fabric (W) to be worked by sewing means (99), a fabric holding frame (3) for holding the fabric (W) to be sewn, a frame drive device (4) for moving the fabric holding frame (3) in an independent manner in two directions orthogonal to each other in a horizontal plane, and an inkjet printer (5) having a print head (61) for printing the fabric (W) held by the fabric holding frame (3). The frame drive device (4) has a first drive mechanism (45) for moving the fabric holding frame (3) in a first direction in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the bed section (10) and has a second drive mechanism (30) for moving the fabric holding frame (3) in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The print head (61) of the printer (5) has nozzle rows (61c-61f) where inkjet nozzles (61b) are arranged in parallel to the first direction. The printer (5) prints on the work fabric (W) while the fabric holding frame (3) is moved in the second direction by the second drive mechanism (30). Thus a printable region (K) is expanded.
