Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an emergency separation pipe joint configured to release a connection between a female joint member and a male joint member, which are connected to each other and are in a use state, when an external force of a given magnitude or more acts on the female joint member and the male joint member so as to cause these joint members to tilt with respect to each other. [Solution] In an emergency separation pipe joint 10 of the present invention, a male joint member 12 can tilt with respect to a longitudinal axis M of a female-side passage 28 in a state where the male joint member 12 and a female joint member 26 are connected to each other. When the male joint member 12 tilts, a pressing surface 58-1 of the male joint member 12 presses a to-be-pressed surface 54-3 of a locking element restricting member 34 of the female joint member 26 and causes the locking element restricting member 34 to be displaced to a release position. Due to this configuration, a locking element 32 can be displaced to a release position and a connection between the male joint member 12 and the female joint member 26 can be released.
