Abstract:
An emergency stopper of elevator provided in the cage (1) of an elevator and stopping the cage (1) by pressing a guide rail (2) for guiding the cage (1) comprising, an elliptical roll (15) disposed rotatably in the vicinity of the guide rail (2) with the gap between the guide rail (2) and a rotary shaft (15a) being set wider than the short diameter but smaller than the long diameter of the roll, and a lever (13) for substantially aligning the extending direction of the guide rail (2) with the long diameter of the roll when the cage (1) is moving at within a specified speed and rotating the roll (15) to press the guide rail (2) when the cage (1) moves at over the specified speed.
