Title:
EMULSION FOR MICROBIAL GROWTH, METHOD FOR GROWING MICROORGANISMS BY USING SAID EMULSION, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MICROBIAL METABOLITE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/045962
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method for industrially and efficiently producing microorganisms or a microbial metabolite by means of microorganisms by using, as a carbon source, a fatty acid or oils and fats having a low solubility in a culture, or a mixture of said fatty acid and oils and fats. The present invention also addresses the problem of providing a method for industrially and efficiently producing PHA by using the aforementioned carbon source. A method for emulsifying lipids by using a protein and a phosphoric acid was discovered. Moreover, it was discovered that lipids would be assimilated by microorganisms in an extremely effective manner by using the aforementioned emulsion. In other words, an emulsion and a method for growing microorganisms by using said emulsion are provided. Additionally, a method for producing a microbial metabolite by growing microorganisms is provided.
