Abstract:
The disclosed encoder (130) is for an actuator (A) which rotates a rotational motion unit (2) that is either directly or indirectly connected to a linear motion unit (1), and linearly moves the linear movement unit (1) in a central axis (L) direction; the encoder (130) is provided with: an encoder disc (132), which is arranged at one end in the central axis (L) direction of the rotational motion unit (2), and which has a detection pattern formed on the outer peripheral surface thereof; and a detector (136), which is arranged so as to face the outer peripheral surface, and which detects the detection pattern.
