Abstract:
The present invention encodes and decodes a sequence of integer values by substantially allocating a fractional number of bits per one sample and/or by using less memory or a smaller operation processing volume than is conventionally used. This encoding device uses a sequence of integer values as input, and outputs an integer code corresponding to the sequence of integer values. An integer conversion unit (11) obtains, for each of a plurality of integer value combinations included in the input sequence of integer values, one integer value (post-conversion integer) based on a bijective conversion which can be expressed algebraically. An integer encoding unit (12) encodes the post-conversion integer to obtain an integer code.
