Abstract:
An encoding device (100) is equipped with a processor and memory. The processor uses the memory to determine asymmetrical filter characteristics on opposite sides of a block boundary (S111) and to perform deblocking filter processing having the determined filter characteristics (S112). For example, in the determination of filter characteristics, the filter characteristics may be determined such that the effect of the deblocking filter processing on a pixel is larger the higher the possibility that there is a large error between the pixel and the original image.
