Abstract:
An encoding device according to the present invention uses frequency domains to encode a time-series signal for each prescribed time interval. The encoding device is provided with an encoding unit in which: a parameter (η) is set as a positive number; the parameter (η) corresponding to a time-series signal is used as a shape parameter of a generalized Gaussian distribution for approximating a histogram of a whitened spectral series, i.e. a series obtained by dividing a frequency domain sample sequence corresponding to the time-series signal by a spectral envelope estimated by considering the η power of the absolute value of the frequency domain sample sequence to be a power spectrum; any of a plurality of the parameters (η) can be selected for each of the prescribed time intervals, or the parameter (η) is variable; and encoding processing having a configuration specified on the basis of at least the parameter (η) for each of the prescribed time intervals is used to encode the time-series signal for each of the prescribed time intervals.
