Disclosed in the present application is an encoding method. The method comprises: obtaining a first bitstream, wherein the first bitstream is an 8-bit bitstream; and performing quality determination on the first bitstream; and determining that the first bitstream does not satisfy quality criteria if the first bitstream satisfies at least one of the following conditions: the logical values of the 4th to 7th bits in the first bitstream are the sane; the logical values of the 1st to 6th bits in the first bitstream are the same; the logical values of the 0th to 5th bits in the first bitstream are the same; and the logical values of the 6th and 7th bits in the first bitstream are the same, the logical values of the 0th to 4th bits are the same, and the logical values of the 6th and 7th bits are opposite. Also disclosed in the present application are an encoding apparatus and a readable storage medium.
