Abstract:
Embodiments of the present application provide an encoding method, a decoding method, and a device. The encoding method comprises: determining X first point cloud patches from among M first point cloud patches of a current frame, wherein the X first point cloud patches have a pre-determined matching relationship with X second point cloud patches, the X second point cloud patches are included in a previous frame of the current frame, X is less than or equal to M, and X and M are both positive integers; acquiring edge information of the X first point cloud patches and edge information of the X second point cloud patches; obtaining X sets of edge information differences according to the edge information of the X first point cloud patches and the edge information of the X second point cloud patches; and encoding the X sets of edge information differences. The encoding method provided by the embodiments of the present application utilizes correlations between point cloud data of two consecutive frames to improve the compression performance of encoding.
