Abstract:
If a clip (20) is locked by downwardly pressing a position located immediately above the clip, the region around the pressed position is slightly downwardly deformed, which detracts from the appearance of the region. Disclosed is an end cap (1) which prevents the above situation, and is mountable on a vehicle body (70) together with a molding main body (5). The clip (20) is locked to the vehicle body (70) by pressing the clip (20) through a top wall part (55) located on the opposite side to the opening side of the molding main body (5). The end cap (1) comprises a cover part (30), an insertion part (40), a locking part (450), and a rib (470). The locking part (450) protrudes from an insertion sliding surface (451) of the insertion part (40). The locking part (450) can be fitted and locked into a notch part (570) formed in a sliding guide surface (571) of the molding main body (5) by the resilience of the insertion part (40) (45). When the clip (20) of the insertion part (40) is pressed through the top wall part (55) of the molding main body (5) provided at a position close to the clip (20), a tip part (4702) of the rib (470) makes contact with the vehicle body (70) and receives a reaction force from the vehicle body (70).
