Abstract:
An end mill which has excellent strength and durability, and which, while having a small diameter, comprises a cutting blade well attached to the main body, and a simple manufacturing method thereof are provided. This end mill comprises: a main body in which an embedding area is provided and which rotates around a rotation axis; and a cutting blade which is embedded and fixed in the embedding area and which is configured as the outermost diameter. In this end mill, the cutting blade includes a sintered diamond, the twist angle of the cutting blade is 0°, and the outer diameter is less than 10 mm. This end mill manufacturing method involves embedding the cutting blade in the embedding area of the main body, and fixing the cutting blade in the embedding area by vacuum brazing or high-frequency brazing in a state in which the cutting blade is embedded in the embedding area.
