Abstract:
An endoscope is provided with: a side-view observation section and a straight-view observation section which are provided to the distal end side of an insertion section to be inserted into an object to be observed and which respectively obtain images of object portions to be observed which are present in the peripheral direction and the insertion direction of the insertion section; a protrusion member which extends through the field of view of the side-view observation section and protrudes further toward the distal end than the side-view observation section; and a shielding section which is located within the field of view of the side-view observation section and shields, within the range in which the protrusion member extends, light which enters the side-view observation section.
