Abstract:
Provided is an endoscope illumination unit comprising: an incidence part IL through which illumination light guided via a light guide 53 enters; a light guide body 52 comprising a ring-shaped portion having an inner circumferential face and serving to guide the illumination light having entered via the incidence part IL and allow the illumination light to be emitted from the outer surface of the ring-shaped portion; and a reflection sheet 61 comprising both end parts, disposed on the inner circumferential face of the ring-shaped portion, and scattering the illumination light having entered the light guide body 52 in the interior part of the ring-shaped portion. Said both end parts of the reflection sheet 61 bent so as to follow the inner circumferential face of the ring-shaped portion are positioned in a site removed from the incidence part IL on the inner circumferential face.
