Abstract:
An endoscope light source device according to the present invention comprises: a first light emitting unit that emits first light supplied to an endoscope; a second light emitting unit that emits second light having the same color component as the first light and has a light modulation resolution lower than that of the first light emitting unit, said second light being supplied to the endoscope along with the first light; and an illumination control unit that, when supplying light to the endoscope, causes the first light emitting unit to emit the first light, then causes the second light emitting unit to emit the second light, in accordance with an amount of light that has been set, while the first light emitting unit is still emitting the first light.
