Abstract:
Provided are an endoscope system and a method for operating the same with which it is possible for images in which an amount of shake is small, acquired by means of a plurality of types of illuminating light, to be stored and displayed as still images. An image processing unit (60) comprises a shake amount calculating unit (72) and a still image storage control unit (74), wherein the shake amount calculating unit (72) comprises a shake amount calculation processing unit (78) and an algorithm switching unit (80). The algorithm switching unit (80) applies a different algorithm to each image, and the shake amount calculation processing unit (78) selects an image in which the amount of shake is small. A first image and a second image selected as images in which the amount of shake is small are stored in a still image storage unit (76). A display control unit (62) displays the still images for storage.
