Abstract:
Provided is an endoscope system which allows a lesion to be recognized easily and allows for display and observation of a specific area. Also provided are a processor device and a method for operating the endoscope system. This endoscope system 10 is provided with: an image acquisition unit 54 for acquiring an endoscopic image; a monitor 18 for displaying at least a part of the endoscopic image; a region-of-interest detection unit 82 for detecting, from a display region 115 displayed on the monitor 18 and a non-display region 121 which is a region other than the display region 115, a region-of-interest124 in at least the non-display region 121; a guide information generation unit 83 for generating, in the event that the region-of-interest detection unit 82 detects the region-of-interest 124 in the non-display region 121, guide information for guidance to the region-of-interest 124 in the non-display region 121; and a display control unit 66 for displaying the guide information as well as the endoscopic image on the monitor 18.
