Abstract:
In the present invention, an endoscope 2 includes: a cable 23 that has a first clock signal line 71a (59a) and a second clock signal line 71b (59b) installed therein; and differential clock signal reception units 58a, 58b for a clock to be supplied to an imaging element 21. A video processor 3 includes: a current detector 66 that is inserted into a VCCI/O for the differential clock signal reception units 58a, 58b; a differential signal output unit that converts clock signals into two differential clock signals which have inverted phase differences and outputs the two differential clock signals; and a FPGA 61 that determines a short circuit or open circuit in the first clock signal line 71a (59a) and the second clock signal line 71b (59b) on the basis of a current value detected by the current detector 66.
