Abstract:
Provided are an endoscope and an endoscope system such that it is possible to reduce the diameter of a transmission cable. This endoscope includes a phase synchronization unit that has: a digitally controlled oscillating unit (221) which is provided on a distal end of a transmission cable (3) and generates a drive clock signal for driving an imaging element; and a phase digital output unit (53) which is provided on a terminal end of the transmission cable (3) and generates and outputs to the transmission cable (3) a phase digital signal that controls the oscillating frequency of the drive clock signal generated by the digitally controlled oscillating unit (221) on the basis of the phase difference between a reference clock signal and an imaging signal.
