Abstract:
An endoscope device 1 includes: a color imaging element 12b that receives light from a subject and generates imaging signals which correspond to a plurality of different colors; a color conversion processing unit 52 that assigns red color signals as well as green color signals and/or blue color signals to output channels corresponding to each color in a monitor 15 for displaying a color image, the red, green and blue color signals respectively corresponding to the red, green and blue generated from the imaging signals corresponding to the plurality of different colors generated by the imaging element 12b; and an illumination device 14 that simultaneously illuminates the subject with light of a first wavelength band that has spectral characteristics of a narrow band having a peak in a wavelength range of 585 nm to 615 nm and light of a second wavelength band that has spectral characteristic such that the subject is least likely to be displayed by the red color signal.
