Abstract:
This endoscope 1 comprises: an operating part 3 that is gripped by an operator; an insertion part 2 that is coupled to a leading end side of the operating part 3 by means of an insertion-part-side fixing base 3M2, and that is rotatable with respect to the operating part 3; and a rotation restriction switching device 3S provided to the operating part 3 and constituted by including an instruction switch 40 that is operated by the finger(s) of the operator's hand gripping the operating part 3, and a shaft 41 that is slidable in the longitudinal axial direction of the operating part 3 in association with the switching operation of the switch, the rotation restriction switching device switching the insertion-part-side fixing base 3M2 from a rotating state to a restricted state in which the rotation thereof is restricted, or switching said restricted state to said rotating state.
