Provided is an endoscope wherein a raising operation of a treatment tool raising stand can be smoothly performed during operation of the endoscope. This endoscope has: an operation section (22) to which a raising lever (20) and angle knobs (64, 64) are provided; an insertion section (24) that is provided to a distal end side of the operation section (22) and has a bending section (52), said bending section (52) bending due to operation of the angle knobs (64, 64); a raising stand (30) that is provided to a distal end section (26) of the insertion section (24); and a movable member (96) that is positioned exposed on the exterior of the operation section (22) and acts in conjunction with an operation of the raising lever (20). The endoscope also comprises: a wire (60) that is connected to the raising stand (30) at a distal end side thereof, is connected to the movable member (96) at a proximal end side thereof, and by being pushed and pulled in accordance with the action of the movable member (96), actuates the raising stand (30); and an attachment member (98) that is provided to the proximal end of the wire (60) and engages with the movable member (96) in a freely attachable/detachable manner, wherein the movable member (96) is positioned on a surface on the opposite side from a surface on which the angle knobs (64, 64) of the operation section (22) are positioned.
