Abstract:
An endoscopic device comprises: a focus control unit (347) which performs focus control of controlling the position of a focus lens (220) to a focus positioning on the basis of a focusing evaluation value calculated from a first region on a captured image, the focus lens (220) being provided in an optical system that forms the captured image obtained by an imaging unit (200); and a scene change detection unit (346) which detects the presence or absence of a scene change in a second region that includes regions that are different from the first region. The focus control unit (347) enters a standby state when the position of the focus lens (220) is controlled to the focusing position, and resumes focus control when a scene change is detected during the standby state.
