Abstract:
This endoscopic system includes an image processing unit that determines the severity of lesion of a lesion part by digitizing the condition of the lesion of biotissue with use of information of a color component of an image, from the image that is of the biotissue in the body cavity and that is acquired by performing imaging of the biotissue. The image processing unit is provided with: a feature amount calculation unit that calculates, for pixels in the image, first pixel evaluation values and second pixel evaluation values indicating the degrees of a first feature and a second feature regarding the color component or the color component and a shape indicated by the lesion part; a representative value calculation unit that, by merging each of the first pixel evaluation values and the second pixel evaluation values, calculates a first representative evaluation value corresponding to the first feature of the imaged biotissue and a second representative evaluation value corresponding to the second feature of the imaged biotissue; and a merger unit that calculates the severity by merging the first representative evaluation value and the second representative evaluation value.
