Abstract:
An endoscopy system 1 includes: an insertion section 6, at the tip of which disposed is an imaging unit 20 that captures an image of a subject and generates a visual signal; and a video processor 3 that processes the visual signal generated by the image capture unit 20. A signal transmission path that links the imaging unit 20 and the video processor 3 is constituted by a waveguide 51 that propagates millimeter waves or submillimeter waves. The waveguide 51 is constituted by a waveguide tube 51 that includes an internal dielectric body 52 that extends in the longitudinal direction so that the dielectric constant is constant and a metal layer 53 that extends continuously in the longitudinal direction and covers the outer periphery of the dielectric body. A thermally conductive filler is blended into at least part of the internal dielectric body 52.
