Abstract:
Provided is an energy-absorbing structure using a reverse spiral folded structure wherein a reaction force is high and the amount of energy absorption is large. The energy absorbing structure (10) using the reverse spiral folded structure is comprised of a cylindrical metal body and comprises minimum units (20) each of which is comprised of a reverse spiral folded structure having a polygonal column shape having a score of a diagonal line (28) on each side surface (26) sandwiched by a virtual top surface (22) and a virtual bottom surface (24). Three or more minimum units (20) are stacked in a direction perpendicular to the virtual top surface (20) or the virtual bottom surface (24).
