Title:
AN ENERGY CIGAR AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/083615
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A cigar having a composition included in the tobacco leaves that induces the release of energy by a user. To provide the stimulating effects, caffeine anhydrous and taurine is mixed with glue using a predetermined ratio, also could be sprayed directly into the binder of the cigar. The method for producing the cigar includes using treated strips made of a tobacco leaf that are of equal size and rolled around the filler of the cigar at a preselected distance from each other. A binder is then used to wrap the filler and tobacco strips and finally a wrapper is used to cover the binder and strips creating several empty spaces through which the evaporated caffeine travels towards a user's mouth. Optionally, a B-Complex vitamin supplement can be used to enhance the stimulating effects a smoker experiences.

Description:
I. TITLE : AN ENERGY CIGAR AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME

II. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention.

[001] The present invention is directed to tobacco products, and more particularly, to an energy-release inducing cigar or energy cigar. 2. Description of the Related Art.

[002] Several types of cigars have been produced in the past. The prior art includes several embodiments for cigars including flavored and smokeless cigars. None of them, however, include a composition for a cigar that includes caffeine, taurine and/or other active ingredients to induce a person to experience an energetic state, decreases the nauseating effects of nicotine, and stimulates appetite. Nor has a cigar been produced that includes the release of vitamin supplements such as B-complex vitamins. III SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[003] It is one of the main objects of the present invention to provide a cigar that induces a user to be more energetic shortly after beginning to smoke the improved cigar. [004] It is another object of the present invention to provide a cigar that includes caffeine and taurine to effectively stimulate a smoker while smoking the cigar. [005] It is another object of this invention to provide a cigar that, optionally, includes B-complex vitamins that supplements the caffeine in the cigar resulting in a steady dose of energy releasing agents while helping to meet the daily B vitamin health requirements. [006] It is still another object of the present invention to provide a cigar that uses caffeine and taurine to curb the nauseating effects of nicotine.

[007] It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a cigar that is made so that the caffeine and B-complex vitamins can be released from the tobacco leaves and can be safely consumed.

[008] It is yet another object of this invention to provide such a cigar that is inexpensive to produce and maintain while retaining its effectiveness. [009] Further objects of the invention will be brought out in the following part of the specification, wherein detailed description is for the purpose of fully disclosing the invention without placing limitations thereon. IV. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

[010] In one embodiment for a cigar that induces the release of energy

("energy cigar") by a user and includes an effective amount of caffeine and taurine anhydrous for providing a stimulant to the central nervous system. Caffeine anhydrous can be a white, crystalline powder or in crystal form or in a liquid state. The caffeine anhydrous can be obtained synthetically or from coffee or tea. [011] Creating a premix comprising of 70.36% taurine by weight, 17.14% caffeine in its pure form by weight, and 12.5% maltodextrin by weight. The effective range of caffeine in the composition subject of the present invention is between 8% and 34%. The effective range of taurine is between 60% and 90% by weight. The effective range of maltodextrin is between 5% and 32%.

[012] In one embodiment, the above proportions are used to create 10 grams of the premix. The premix is then combined with an adhesive, such as carrageenan, or a similar additive commonly used in the rolling and/or manufacturing of cigars. [013] In this embodiment, 10 grams of the premix are combined with 10 ml of the glue additive. The effective range for the amount of glue to be combined is between 5 - 15 ml.

[014] From the resulting combination of premix and glue additive, 1ml is used and uniformly applied to the individual strips or directly to the binder of the cigar. Strips 30 are wrapped around filler 20 of cigar 10 at predetermined distances.

Effectively, between 0.25ml to 1.5ml of the resulting combination of premix and glue additive can be used. The premix/glue additive combination is also known as the glue mix.

[015] To apply the glue mix to the cigar 10, a rectangular or square piece of tobacco leaf is cut into strips 30. In one embodiment, strips 30 of tobacco leaf measures 7.5 by 7.5 centimeters and can be cut into four or five approximately equal-sized strips. The distance between strips 30, in one embodiment, is to be approximately one centimeter. The first strip is located approximately one centimeter from the burning tip of the cigar. This is to prevent the strips from being exposed to the lit portion of the cigar too directly, which will cause useless burning of the caffeine off tobacco strips 30. By maintaining a distance between strips 30, the glue mix of each strip can more gradually and effectively be extracted from the strip using an appropriate amount of heat. [016] The last strip is then located no closer than 3 centimeters from the end of the cigar that will be cut for the smoker to inhale through. These 3 centimeters provide a distance necessary so that it is no less than one centimeter from the user's mouth to the strip can be maintained even after the cigar is cut. It is preferred that water not be used in the glue mix as water has been found to make it difficult to later manipulate the tobacco leaves.

[017] After wrapping treated tobacco strips 30 around filler 20 at the above- mentioned distance intervals, binder 40 of cigar 10 is then wrapped around the filler and strip creating separate annular spaces that act as a tunnel through which the volatile caffeine passes. Finally, wrapper 50 is wrapped around binder 40 sealing the so-called tunnel resulting in the finished product. [018] In an alternate embodiment, a B-Complex supplement can be mixed to the premix to provide an enhanced stimulating effect. The B-Complex combination can also be mixed directly with the glue mix without using the premix ingredients. In one embodiment, the B-Complex supplement includes an effective amount of vitamins Bl , B6, and B12. Grams of vitamin B12 (1%). In one embodiment, the B-vitamin Complex composition is applied to the tip that comes in contact with a smoker's mouth.

[019] The foregoing description conveys the best understanding of the objectives and advantages of the present invention. Different embodiments may be made of the inventive concept of this invention. It is to be understood that all matter disclosed herein is to be interpreted merely as illustrative, and not in a limiting sense.

V. INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY

An energy cigar to provide users with a predetermined dosage of caffeine and taurine as they smoke the cigar. The caffeine also minimizes nauseating effects associated with nicotine. The caffeine is added to the cigar by wrapping tobacco strips filled with the caffeine composition disclosed in the present invention around the filler layer of the cigar, also the caffeine and taurine or premix could be sprayed in the binder or filler of the cigar.
