Title:
ENERGY-RECOVERY COOLING UNIT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1999/000634
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an energy-recovery cooling unit comprising at least one section (1) which is defined by a heat-exchange surface (5) as well as by supply (6) and recovery (7) manifolds for one medium, wherein said manifolds abut from opposite sides against said surface. Each manifold (6, 7) includes corresponding working ducts for the inlet (8) and the outlet (10) of the medium (oil). This invention is characterised in that each manifold (6 or 7) further comprises a circulation duct (9 or 11). The cooling unit also comprises at least one bypass line (12) including a regulating closing member (13). One end of the bypass line is connected to the supply manifold (6) of one of the sections (1, 2, 3, 4), while the other end is connected to the recovery manifold (7) of the same one of said sections (1, 2, 3, 4). In the case of a single-section cooling unit, the connections are made to the same section (1). The ducts (8 or 10, 9 or 11) communicate through connecting pipes (21) that define together with the manifolds (6, 7) and the bypass lines (12, 14, 15, 16) a portion of a closed circuit which is used for the pre-circulation of the medium and includes an external heat source (18).
