Title:
ENERGY REGENERATION DEVICE FOR EITHER HYBRID VEHICLE OR ELECTRIC AUTOMOBILE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/029341
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] The driving power of a hybrid vehicle is the motive power of a gasoline engine, the electricity generated by a generator linked to said engine, and the electricity that results when motive energy is converted to electrical energy via regenerative braking during deceleration. An electric automobile uses electricity in a battery for driving power, and thus also stores electricity that results from converting motive energy to electrical energy via regenerative braking during deceleration. Only a slight amount of regenerative energy results in such situations, however. [Solution] An oil pump function is added directly to the damping effect of shock absorbers that are conventionally built into a vehicle's suspension. Oil that is pumped from the shock absorbers is collected in an accumulator, and a hydraulic motor is driven with increased oil pressure, driving a generator linked thereto. The electricity thus generated is used as part of the driving power.
