Description:
ENERGY-SAVING TYPE PUMP Technical Field The present invention relates to an energy-saving type pump, and more particularly, to an energy-saving type pump suitable for pumping a large volume of fluids.

Background Art In general, a conventional pump is operated by a motor with less than 6 electrodes. The motor runs at a high speed of 1,750 RPM (Revolution Per Minute).

Number of vanes of an impeller installed in the conventional pump is less than 6. An interval between a body and the impeller is relatively closer and pumping is performed by a centrifugal force of the impeller which is rotated at the high speed. As a consequence, the conventional pump has a limit in pumping a large volume of fluids despite high power consumption.

Disclosure of the Invention Accordingly, the present invention is directed to an energy-saving type pump that substantially obviates one or more problems due to limitations and disadvantages of the related art.

An object of the present invention is to provide an energy-saving type pump capable of pumping a larger volume of fluids with lower power consumption.

Additional advantages, objects, and features of the invention will be set forth in part in the description which follows and in part will become apparent to those having ordinary skill in the art upon examination of the following or may be learned from practice of the invention. The objectives and other advantages of the invention may be realized and attained by the structure particularly pointed out in the written description and claims hereof as well as the appended drawings.

Brief Description of the Drawings

Further objects and advantages of the invention can be more fully understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawing in which: FIG. 1 is a partial-sectional front view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention ; and FIG. 2 is a side sectional view of a pump applicable to the present invention.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention The present invention will now be described in detail in connection with preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. For reference, like reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout several views.

FIG. 1 is a partial-sectional front view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a side sectional view of a pump 1 applicable to the present invention.

According to the present invention, the pump 1 is connected to a motor 2, which is installed on a side of the pump 1, by a coupling 3. The motor 2 has at least 8 electrodes and thus ensures RPM of less than 900.

Number of vanes 5 of an impeller 4, which pumps water in the pump 1 is more than 8. A diameter of a body 6 on which the impeller 4 is installed and a diameter of the impeller 4 are relatively large. An interval between the body 6 and the impeller 4 is relatively wide.

A reference numeral 7 in the drawing designates a base frame, and a reference numeral 8 designates a bracket.

The present invention constructed as above is used when pumping all sorts of water used. According to the pump 1 of the present invention, the motor 2 has 8 or more electrodes and the output RPM is less than about 900, whereby the motor 2 is operated at a low speed compared with the conventional motor. The number of vanes 5 of the impeller 4 is at least 8, the diameters of the body 6 and the impeller 4 are relatively great, and the interval between the body 6 and the impeller 4 is relatively wide, whereby the volume of

water pumped by the vanes 5 of the impeller 4 is maximized and the pump 1 becomes very much suitable for pumping a large volume of fluids.

Industrial Applicability As described above, the present invention has advantages of greatly contributing to energy-saving and pumping a large volume of water since a motor 2 has 8 or more electrodes and number of vanes 5 of an impeller 4 is more than 8 as well as a diameter of a body, a diameter of the impeller 4, and an interval between the body and the impeller 4 are relatively large.

The present invention has another advantage of achieving a high applicability since the pump 1 can be applied to existing pumps in a simple manner.

While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiments, it is not to be restricted by the embodiments but only by the appended claims. It is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify the embodiments without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
