Abstract:
An energy storage apparatus according to various embodiments comprises: a battery system including at least one battery; a power conversion unit for alternating current (AC)-direct current (DC) or DC-AC converting the characteristic of input/output power of the battery system; a conversion control unit for controlling an operation of the power conversion unit; an initial driving unit for converting DC power of the battery system into AC power and supplying the AC power as power for operating the conversion control unit; and a power selection unit for detecting an output voltage of the power conversion unit, selecting one of AC power output from the initial driving unit and AC power output from the power conversion unit, on the basis of the level of the output voltage of the power conversion unit, and supplying the same as operating power for the conversion control unit.
