Abstract:

This energy storage system is provided with a heat generating device that generates heat from electric power, and a heat storage device that stores the heat generated by the heat generating device. The heat generating device is provided with: an electric motor, which is connected to an electric power system, and which rotates by means of surplus electric power received from the electric power system; and a heat generating apparatus, which has a rotating unit that rotates by means of the electric motor, and a heat generating unit that generates heat due to electromagnetic induction, and which converts the rotating force of the electric motor into heat.
