Abstract:
Provided is an engagement chain type door opening and closing device such that a sufficient passage space for incoming and outgoing passengers to pass safely is secured; that at the same time, there is avoided a situation where incoming and outgoing passengers fall in a gap between a platform and a vehicle; that furthermore, there is achieved a situation where said passengers safely get on and off a vehicle such as an electric train; and that the complexity of installation work is avoided. The engagement chain type door opening and closing device (100) is equipped with a pair of engagement chains (110) which engage with each other, thereby becoming not only stiff but also branchable; a chain guide means (120) provided with a chain housing groove (121); a drive sprocket (130) which drives the pair of engagement chains (110) in such a way that the same can freely advance or retreat; a driving source which supplies driving force to the drive sprocket (130); and a door section (150) which is driven by the pair of engagement chains (110).
