Abstract:
This engine control apparatus controls output of an engine that comprises: a cylinder for allowing combustion of fuel-air mixture, which is a mixture of fuel injected by a fuel injection device and air taken in by an intake system, in a main combustion chamber facing a piston; an ignition plug that has an auxiliary combustion chamber being contiguous to the main combustion chamber and being configured to take therein the fuel-air mixture from the main combustion chamber and has an electrode mounted inside the auxiliary combustion chamber, that injects to the main combustion chamber a flame jet generated by firing by the electrode the fuel-air mixture in the auxiliary combustion chamber, and that ignites the fuel-air mixture in the main combustion chamber; and an ignition device for controlling the ignition timing of the ignition plug. This engine control apparatus comprises a control unit for continuing supply of a pre-ignition signal for causing the ignition plug to perform pre-ignition, which does not cause combustion of the fuel-air mixture, until occurrence of main ignition which is caused when the fuel-air mixture reaches a spark generated by the electrode.
