Abstract:
An ECU (70A) is provided for an engine (1) provided with a VVT (30) which is a valve actuating apparatus capable of independently setting the phase of two intake valves (2) provided for a combustion chamber (E), namely an intake valve (2A) and an intake valve (2B). The ECU (70A) is provided with a control unit that changes the phase of at least one of the intake valves (2A, 2B) by controlling the VVT (30) in accordance with the degree of engine brake to be demanded from the engine (1).
