Abstract:
Provided is an engine control apparatus in which an engine rotation speed can be maintained within an appropriate range even when an air amount for early activation of a catalyst is increased by using an electromagnetic valve which can only be switched on/off. An engine control apparatus (300) is provided with: an auxiliary air intake passage (24) that bypasses a throttle valve (23) provided in the midway of an air intake passage (22) and then is connected to the air intake passage (22); an auxiliary air valve (25) that is disposed in the auxiliary air intake passage (24) and that can be switched between full opening and full closing; an opening/closing control unit (30) that performs on/off control of the auxiliary air valve (25) between full closing and full opening such that the auxiliary air valve (25) is in a fully open state at the time of energization; and an ignition control unit (80) that controls an ignition device (41) of an engine (E). The ignition control unit (80) uses, as ignition timing maps, a first map (81) when the auxiliary air valve (25) is fully open and a second map (82) when the auxiliary air valve (25) is fully closed. The first map (81) is configured to be delayed as compared with the second map (82).
