Abstract:
An engine control device (30) is provided with an error detector (71), RAM (83), EEPROM (87), a RAM writing unit (74), and an EEPROM writing unit (75). The error detector (71) detects abnormalities in an engine. The RAM (83) is a volatile storage unit, and is capable of storing error information which is information pertaining to the abnormalities detected by the error detector (71). The EEPROM (87) is a nonvolatile storage unit, and is capable of storing error information. When the error detector (71) detects an abnormality, the RAM writing unit (74) writes error information relating to the abnormality into the RAM (83). After the engine has started up, when the engine speed has fallen below a prescribed trigger speed, the EEPROM writing unit (75) writes the error information stored in the RAM (83) into the EEPROM (87).
