Abstract:
An engine control device (50) determines whether or not a compression top dead center is the compression top dead center immediately prior to the engine (11) speed reaching zero, making said determination after engine (11) combustion has stopped, during a speed reduction period during which the engine speed reduces to zero, and on the basis of the engine speed at the compression top dead center for the engine (11). If a determination is made that the compression top dead center is the compression top dead center immediately prior to the engine (11) speed reaching zero, the engine control device (50) applies reverse torque from that compression top dead center by using a rotating electrical machine (30) and stops a piston (13) at a rotation angle position in the first half of the expansion stroke, as a result of the application of the reverse torque.
