Abstract:

The present invention addresses the problem of being able to arrange, in a highly-rigid and compact manner, an exhaust gas purification device (2) on an engine (1) as one constituent component of the engine (1). This engine device is provided with the exhaust gas purification device (2) for purifying the exhaust gas from the engine (1). The exhaust gas purification device (2) is mounted on the engine (1) such that the lengthwise direction of the exhaust gas purification device (2) is orthogonal to the output shaft (3) of the engine (1). A cooling fan (9) is disposed on one side surface of the engine (1) that intersects with the output shaft (3). The exhaust gas purification device (2) is supported by a cylinder head (5) at a section on the top surface of the engine (1) that is closer to the cooling fan (9).
