Provided is a compact engine generator unit that is for a flying object and that is highly versatile and easy to handle. An engine generator unit 1 dedicated to generation of power for a flying object 100, comprises: a horizontally opposed engine 2 in which a first cylinder 4 and a second cylinder 7 are arranged, extending in a first direction and a second direction opposite to the first direction, respectively, as viewed in the axial direction of a crankshaft 8; and a first electricity generator 23 and a second electricity generator 24 linked to the crankshaft 8. The horizontally opposed engine 2 is supported by a support structure 27 including a lower rigid structure 28 covering at least a portion of the lower surface of the horizontally opposed engine 2 and an upper rigid structure 30 covering at least a portion of the upper surface of the horizontally opposed engine 2. The support structure 27 forms a linking portion 32 that connects to a body frame 103 of the flying object 100, and a portion of the functions required for the horizontally opposed engine 2, the first electricity generator 23, and the second electricity generator 24.
