Abstract:
This engine start control device for a hybrid vehicle is provided with a battery, a first and a second rotating electric machine, an engine, a first determination unit which determines whether or not the battery is in a low output state, a cranking control unit which cranks the engine, and a second determination unit which performs a cranking completion determination. If the maximum output of the battery is a low output state, then the cranking control unit powers the first rotating electric machine at a low output target rotation speed, and the second determination unit determines cranking completion when the condition is satisfied that the actual rotation speed of the first rotating electric machine has continued for a prescribed period of time within a target range.
