Abstract:
This engine system comprises: a first flow rate control valve that controls the flow rate of air to be supplied to an engine; a first fuel supply valve that supplies a fuel to the engine; a reformer that reforms the fuel to generate a reformed gas containing hydrogen; an air flow path in which air to be supplied to the reformer flows; a second flow rate control valve that is provided in the air flow path, and controls the flow rate of the air to be supplied to the reformer; a second fuel supply valve that supplies the fuel to the reformer; a reformed gas flow path in which the reformed gas generated by the reformer flows; a temperature detector that detects the temperature of the reformed gas flowing in the reformed gas flow path; a rotation variation detector that detects the amount of variation in the rotation of the engine; and a deterioration sensor that senses whether or not the reforming performance of a catalyst of the reformer has deteriorated, on the basis of detected values of the temperature detector and the rotation variation detector. In a state where the temperature of the reformed gas is at least a first threshold during an idling period of the engine, if the amount of variation in the rotation of the engine is at least a second threshold, the deterioration sensor determines that the reforming performance of the catalyst has deteriorated.
