Abstract:
An engine valve with a ceramic coating layer obtained by forming a ceramic coating layer of a ceramic starting material on the back surface of a valve head, characterized in that: the ceramic coating layer has a thickness of 220-1,000 μm; pores are formed within the ceramic coating layer; the pores have an average pore diameter of 0.5-15 μm; and the ceramic coating layer has a porosity of 10-60%.
